3. Rocky Point

Puerto Peñasco, or Rocky Point, was once another sleepy fishing village on Mexico’s northwest coast along the Sea of Cortez. It is only about 65 miles south of the Arizona border, known for its variety of fish and reasonably-priced charters. There isn’t much glitz here, but there is good food and plenty of outdoor activities. Most importantly, there is beautiful sea, sand, sun, and a wide choice of accommodations.

Rocky Point is an up and coming destination for American tourists. Additionally, many large franchises such as Sam’s Club and Little Caesar’s are planting roots here. Revel in the culture and spirit of this inland capital and explore unique ruins; the distinctive circular pyramids are found nowhere else in the country.
